Windows and Linux drives, right in Finder.

Read and write NTFS drives from Windows, and browse and copy files from ext2, ext3, ext4 and XFS Linux volumes — right in Finder. Built on Apple’s FSKit: no root helper, kernel extension or Reduced Security required.

File systems in the release candidate

NTFS volumes open read-only by default; you can enable writing after confirming. Linux volumes are read-only. Mounting depends on the extension, purchase access, macOS and the volume’s format and condition.

NTFS

Read & write

Windows drives — external SSDs, USB sticks and disks formatted on a PC. Copy, edit, rename and delete files from Finder once you enable write access.

ext2 / ext3 / ext4

Read-only

Read files from supported, clean Linux volumes. Unsupported features or a journal needing recovery prevent access; Volmora does not repair the source.

XFS

Read-only

Browse supported, clean XFS volumes and copy existing files. Not all XFS variants are supported, and log recovery is not provided.

Premium unlocks supported access; it doesn’t add write support to read-only formats. This edition does not include experimental Linux write tools, filesystem repair, or unlocking encrypted volumes.

Drives macOS already supports — APFS, Mac OS Extended, exFAT and FAT — keep working as usual and never require a purchase.

No kernel extension

Volmora runs as a user-space FSKit file system extension. You never have to boot into Recovery or switch to Reduced Security.

Just Finder

Mounted volumes appear in Finder and work with your apps. Edit files directly on NTFS drives with write access enabled; copy files off read-only Linux volumes.

Private by design

File access happens locally. No separate Volmora account or automatic diagnostics upload. Apple handles purchases; you choose whether to send diagnostics to support.

How access works

  1. 1

    Install Volmora

Once released, download Volmora from the Mac App Store. Choose a plan or restore an existing purchase to use Volmora’s file system providers.

  2. 2

    Enable the extension

Turn on Volmora in System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions › File System Extensions. The app takes you there.

  3. 3

    Connect your drive

Follow the app’s access instructions. macOS manages physical-device mounting; Volmora shows the actual result. Normally unmount all volumes before disconnecting.
